The Andean Cosmovision of the Kallawaya of Bolivia concerns a small ethnic group of renowned ritual specialists and herbalists from the Cordillera Apolobamba, who cure with an extraordinary body of traditional medicine utilizing up to 900 different species of plants. These enigmatic doctors, often referred to as "lords of the medicine bag" (Qolla kapachayuh), traditionally embark on long journeys across ancient Inca trails, performing ceremonial llantucha dances and Pacha Mama offerings before and during their healing rituals.
