The Drametse Ngacham, or the Mask Dance of the Drums from Drametse, is Bhutan’s preeminent sacred masked dance, recognized by UNESCO in 2005. This highly revered ritual is performed to honor Guru Rinpoche and is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual liberation, celebrating the victory of Buddha dharma. Performed by sixteen dancers wearing ornate costumes and masks that embody a variety of celestial deities, the dance involves strenuous physical and spiritual discipline and incorporates both calm and rapid drum rhythms. Since its survival depends on the transmission of skills, a project was initiated to safeguard this spiritual art form by compiling documentation and conducting training workshops, activities which this photographic project enhanced.ドラムツェ・ガツァム（ドラムツェの太鼓の仮面舞踊） は、ブータンを代表する神聖な仮面舞踊であり、2005年にユネスコに認定されています。この崇敬される儀式は、グル・リンポチェに敬意を表して演じられ、平和、繁栄、精神的な解放をもたらすと信じられており、仏教の勝利を祝います。16人の踊り手が、様々な天上の神々を体現した豪華な衣装と仮面を着用して演じ、激しい肉体的・精神的な規律を伴い、穏やかなリズムと速いリズムの太鼓が取り入れられます。その存続が技能の伝承にかかっているため、文書化の編集とトレーニングワークショップの実施を通じた保護プロジェクトが開始され、この写真プロジェクトがそれを支える役割を果たしました。
